Where do you go for breakfast outside the home?

Lot is on Thomsonlaan, just around the corner from my house. I always have the toast with scrambled eggs and avocado there, and they have a rotating selection of fresh juices. Besides the good food, it is simply a beautiful place, and fun young people from the neighborhood come there.

What is your favorite bakery?

At Phillipe Galerne Patisserie on Aer van de Goesstraat, they have everything, from delicious brown bread to the most beautiful pastries. I usually get a croissant there.

My favorite is the ‘Parmaham Special’, a brown baguette with homemade pesto, mozzarella and Parma ham.

And your favorite butcher?

Scharrelslagerij ‘t Oude ambacht on Reinkenstraat not only has good meat, but also delicious sandwiches. My favorite is the ‘Parmaham Special’, a brown baguette with homemade pesto, mozzarella and Parma ham.

Do you also have a favorite local restaurant?

The great thing about Bogor is that you eat in an old-fashioned living room where the entire table is filled with a classic rijsttafel. I can also recommend a very good Thai restaurant, Curry & Cocos. You really eat as if you were in Thailand, so it is deliciously authentic.

Where do you get the best burger in town?

‘Ich Bin ein hamburger‘ is on our street. The staff wear suspenders, the interior is styled somewhat like the ‘roaring twenties’, and they have extreme burgers with, for example, confit de canard. I think the black Angus cheeseburger is excellent there.

It’s a celebration—what restaurant do you celebrate at?

Pastis on Oude Molstraat is a French bistro. It is incredibly cozy, and the menu features only French classics such as steak tartare, moules frites and gratin dauphinois.

Where do you drink the best cocktails?

At Wicked Wines, they have not only delicious wines, but also plenty of cocktails on the menu.

Where do you go for a beer after work?

Café Emma or Café de Bieb are both open until late, and there is always a great atmosphere.

Where do you get your late-night snack?

Sakara is a household name in The Hague; they have been there for almost thirty years. Their shawarma is simply delicious, and they are open until 02:15.
