No European Championship football this year, but there is football pizza

What a wonderful prospect it was: the 2020 European Championship. Watching a game of football while tucking into Dr. Oetker’s football pizza. Unfortunately, we can forget about sports for a while during these coronavirus times. But the football pizza? That’s staying! And that offers all the football fans out there a little bit of comfort.

Pizza without football
Especially for this year’s European Championship, Dr. Oetker launched the football pizza: a salami pizza from the freezer as you’re used to, but with pentagonal slices of salami instead of round ones. Yes, based on the panels of a real football.
Surprise
Because salami needs time to mature, production of the pizzas had already started. Due to the coronavirus measures, the European Championship, like all other events, is not going ahead, leaving Dr. Oetker unexpectedly with stacks of football pizzas. Throwing them away would of course be a waste, so the pizzas are still on the shelves. The box is otherwise the same as that of the regular ‘Ristorante pizza Salame’, so it remains a surprise whether you slide a regular salami pizza or a football pizza into your oven.
