Good news for everyone who can’t make it to Amsterdam-West every day: from 16 September, Fort Negen’s bestsellers will be temporarily available through grocery app Crisp. That means you can enjoy the iconic farmhouse sourdough, the succulent almond-frangipane croissant, creamy canelés, the new Fort Negen recipe book and all the ingredients for the ultimate bread pudding right at home.

Fort Negen: more than just an ordinary bakery

Social media quickly reached the same conclusion: Fort Negen is different from your standard neighborhood bakery. Take a bite of the succulent almond-frangipane croissant and you’ll understand why. The flavors seem to come straight from the finest boulangeries in Paris.

Owner Maarten Langeslag previously worked in the kitchen of top restaurant De Kas and brought that mentality to his bakery. High standards for ingredients, attention to fermentation and flavor, and the introduction of weekly specials based on the season or inspiration make Fort Negen unique.

Thanks to the collaboration with Crisp, the whole of the Netherlands can now enjoy these iconic products, straight from the bakery’s digital pop-up shop.

Public favorites you shouldn’t miss

1. Almond-Frangipane Croissant: the bakery’s absolute star. Originally made in France with day-old croissants, but so popular at Fort Negen that extra batches are baked every day.
2. Farmhouse Sourdough XL: robust and full of flavor thanks to the sourdough starter and organic, stone-ground grains from Dutch farmers who farm regeneratively. Your most delicious cheese sandwich!
3. ‘Caramel Noir’ Canelés: small French pastries with a deeply caramelized exterior and a creamy, soft center. Ideal with coffee or as a dessert.
