Nostalgia! McDonald’s brings back the best Happy Meal toys
You can’t tell by its youthful appearance, but the Happy Meal is celebrating its 40th birthday this year! And when it’s your birthday, you treat others. McDonald’s is doing so by putting the best toys from 40 years of Happy Meals back in the boxes.
Tamagotchi, Power Rangers, Hamburglar, Grimace, Hot Wheels, My Little Pony and Furby—you’ll find them all in the Surprise Happy Meal. Is your millennial heart already beating faster? Between Thursday, November 7 and Sunday, November 10, you can get your hands on them, as the toys will be available in Happy Meals.
Collect them all
Collectors Rob Goudriaan (71) and his wife Bep (68) from Soest have already received a limited-edition box containing all the toys to add to their collection—now numbering around 20,000 items. Rob is happy with the selection of toys, he tells AD. “I do think I would have made a different choice. I would have included the Smurfs and Snoopy. And I’m missing a Ronald character. But of course, that’s very personal. If you ask a hundred people what they would choose, you’ll get 99 different answers.”
