On a budget: Aim Aroy

No energy left to cook? We get it! But delicious food is a must, so never settle for less. That’s why we’re sharing our tips for truly tasty takeaways, the best delivery services and affordable places.

The area in and around NS Plein in Tilburg is teeming with Thai takeaways and restaurants. A little over a year ago, Aim Aroy joined them. There’s quite a lot to say about this place, although in the end it all comes down to one thing: You. Must. Go. Here.
Tom Kha Kai
The Thai dishes by chef and owner Jam Phantan burst with color, aroma and flavor and are super fresh, authentic and affordable. For less than six euros, you can enjoy a bowl of silky-smooth Tom Kha Kai: a soup made with coconut milk, galangal and lemongrass, with chicken, mushrooms and cilantro.
Crunchy
After the soup, you’ll surely still have enough room for a main course (prices range from ten to fifteen euros). Go for the crispy fried whole sea bream, covered in a sauce made with garlic, lime juice, sweet basil and chilies. Seriously, the skin is unbelievably crunchy and the fish comes right off the bone. Delicious.
LED lighting
In the mood for something spicy? Go for the spicy panang curry with beef, chicken, pork or prawns. Don’t forget to order a refreshing Chang beer to go with it. As soon as dusk falls, the blue-purple LED lighting comes on and you can imagine yourself completely in Thailand. Aim Aroy is open daily from 16:00 to 21:00. Reservations are recommended and can be made online.
