One look at the menu and you’re sold. At least if, like the FavorFlav editorial team, the idea of a rendang croquette and other deep-fried goodness—that makes you wonder why you didn’t think of it yourself—makes you intensely happy. That’s what awaits you when you visit Culinair Cafetaria in Eindhoven: the ultimate cross between a restaurant and a snack bar.

Tasting of All Croquettes

When visiting this haute friture spot, you can’t skip the croquette tasting. For seventeen euros, you get six golden-brown snacks, each served with its own sauce. The rendang croquette, of course, but also the Langue D’or (beef tongue croquette), the Truffle Delight (celeriac and truffle croquette) and the Peking Express, among others. The latter isn’t a croquette, but it is a spring roll filled with confit duck. Fair enough, because the Ponzu sauce served with it turns this snack into an absolute winner.

Think six croquettes for dinner is a bit excessive? Then go for a burger (8 euros), a complete meal (between 12 and 14 euros) or the changing daily special (between 7 and 15 euros), for those who don’t want a snack or burger. Although we strongly advise against the latter. Because, once again: there’s a rendang croquette on the menu.
