On a budget: Lola

No energy left to cook? We get it! But delicious food is a must—never settle for less. That’s why we’ve put together our tips for truly delicious takeaway meals, the best delivery services and affordable places.

With the opening of Lola, Casper von Bannisseht’s boyhood dream came true. He had already worked for the Dudok group in Rotterdam for several years, creating restaurant concepts. And now, in collaboration with the group, he has his own place.
Simple but good
Lola is a restaurant where you can eat Spanish food in a contemporary way. So yes, tapas, but not the standard meatballs in tomato sauce or deep-fried calamari that we all know. All the dishes are simple and prepared with good ingredients. The sauces are—as they should be—homemade.
Lola board
“The absolute hit is the Lola board,” says Bannisseht. It comes with merguez sausage with homemade BBQ sauce, marinated chicken skewers, grilled vegetables, chorizo croquettes with bravas mayo, prawns with saffron mayo, beetroot salad, smoked almonds and more. All this for € 15 per person.
Further down the menu? Calamari and prawns from the plancha, steak, stir-fried mussels and a whole range of tapas ranging from four to six euros.
