On a budget: Van Aken in Den Bosch

Feel like you no longer have the energy to cook? We get it, but good food is a must. Never settle for less. That’s why we’ve put together our tips for truly delicious takeaway meals, the best delivery services and affordable places.

Have you always wanted to feel like a Barbie doll in a completely pink restaurant? You can at Van Aken in the WerkWarenHuis in Den Bosch. Designer Edwin Vollebergh of Studio Boot opened the restaurant in 2016; its interior is entirely pink.
Cultural hotspot
The WerkWarenHuis is an initiative to turn the Tramkade site in Den Bosch into a cultural hotspot, and it’s doing a pretty good job. In addition to the restaurant, you’ll also find the Social Label design shop in the pink factory. So here, delicious food and dancing simply go hand in hand with shopping. What more do you need, right?
If you’re on a budget, join Van Aken on Thursdays from 17:00 for an inexpensive but good meal at the fixed price of €12.50. This allows you to enjoy different dishes that change weekly. How about pumpkin and coconut soup, tuna furikake or redfish on Thursday evening? Those who want to spend a little more can go for a dinner on Friday and Saturday, inspired by the season, the region and the location. The menu changes every month.

Be sure to take a look at their Instagram account. Here you can admire the tough, industrial yet pink palace, and you’ll immediately see how creative they are. The building’s pink look is also perfect for taking your own Instagram photo.
