Oops, sorry: supermarket chain Coop sells pork in vegan schnitzels

Pork in your vegan schnitzel is pretty much the last thing you want if you don’t eat pork. It happened to Coop customers. Due to a supplier error, Pork Schnitzels XXL were sold in packaging bearing the label of the Plant-Based Schnitzel XXL. Oops…

Small quantity
Fortunately, this concerns only a very small part of the production: 220 units, of which approximately 60 were sold at Coop. The remainder was removed from the stores immediately. There are no issues with the quality or food safety, but the product in this packaging is therefore not vegetarian and contains pork.
Recall
‘We regret that, as a result, our customers may have bought and eaten a (pork) meat product against their principles and convictions,’ Coop says in its recall notice.
