When you hear ‘Merci dat jij er bent’ (‘Merci, that you’re here’), you can’t help but immediately think of a flat box filled with chocolate bars in different flavors. Now, we regularly scour TikTok for the most useful hacks ever, and this time we came across another eye-opener: how to open Merci chocolates.
A box of chocolates, whatever the brand, is always a good way to make an entrance. By the way, am I the only one whose plain Merci chocolates filled with marzipan are always left all alone in the box? Favorite or not, it turns out I’ve been removing the wrapper from the chocs the wrong way for years. Say what?!

Sanna shows how to do it properly in her TikTok video. She removes only the transparent part of the chocolate, leaving the golden bottom in place, so you can eat the chocolate without getting melted chocolate all over your fingers. Handy, right? De rien (you’re welcome)!
