Planet Oedipus is out of this world

During Planet Oedipus, Oedipus Brewery organizes a weekend full of music, art, food and, of course, beer.

On August 11 and 12, NoordOogst in Amsterdam-Noord will be transformed into an out of this world festival. Last year was a great success, and this year promises to be even more fun. They call it a feast for gourmets and enthusiasts, and they are absolutely right.

The breweries

Acts are being flown in from all over the world for this music and beer festival. Some of the announced names include Lervig Aktiebryggeri from Norway, Great Leap Brewing from Canada, Põhjala Brewery from Estonia and Uiltje from the Netherlands. It is a great way to step outside your own little (Amsterdam) beer bubble, and that is certainly no punishment.

The food

With wine… eh, beer, of course comes food. Brandt and Levie are providing the sausages, kimchi comes from Oh Na Mi Kimchi, and fromagerie Kef is taking care of delicious cheese. So you do not have to worry about your cheese board and beer-and-cheese pairings.

The music and art

Sugarfactory and BLiP Agency have taken care of the music line-up and are bringing a mix of world music, afro, blues, soul, jazz, disco, funk and garage. Think artists such as Omni, Amber Arcades, Ronald Snijders: The Nelson & Djosa Sessions and Koffie MUSIC. There is something for everyone. There will also be DJs spinning their records, including The Bakabanas and Kimchi Radio. We already want to go just for the names.
