McDonald’s Japan is paying the creators of the wildly popular game Pokémon Go to let gamers catch and train Pokémon in 3,000 of their restaurants.

It’s not only the Mickey D’s in Japan that is taking advantage of this advertising opportunity. Cold Stone Creamery, Steak ‘n Shake and In-N-Out Burger in the US have followed McDonald’s example and, partly as a result, attracted more customers.

In the Netherlands, two million people have already downloaded the game, so it’s only a matter of time before the first paid locations appear here.
