Potato pancakes to go with mulled wine

With mulled wine, a fitting snack should of course not be missing. One that pairs beautifully with its characteristic flavors.

Peel and grate the potatoes (do not wash them afterwards). Finely chop the onions and parsley. Mix the grated potato with the onions, eggs, flour and baking powder. Add the chopped parsley last. Then season the mixture with a little salt and pepper and, if desired, a little nutmeg.
Heat a moderate amount of butter and oil in a frying pan. Using a spoon or ice cream scoop, divide the potato mixture into flat balls and fry them for 4 to 5 minutes on both sides until golden brown. Drain briefly on kitchen paper. Fry the next batch until all the mixture has been used. Optionally add a little freshly ground pepper when serving.
