Pasticceria Marchesi 1824

The legendary pastry shop Pasticceria Marchesi 1824 is opening its first international location this spring in London’s Mayfair district.

The bakery is partly owned by Prada; it actually opened in 1824 (surprising, right, with a name like that), above Prada’s store in Milan.

The bakery is known for its pastries, sugared almonds and panettone, but—as befits fashionable Milanese style—also for its interior: antique mirrors, antique display cases, antique glassware, art deco windows and lighting. The perfect Fashion Week pit stop.

Panettone

The London shop will open in April on Mount Street, opposite The Connaught Hotel. According to Hot Dinner, the new Marchesi will be a pastry shop and café where you can get classic Milanese panettone, Gianduja chocolate and thick Italian hot chocolate. Mmmm.
