Recipe: Macchiato Martini (with Baileys!)

The Espresso Martini cocktail is the number one crowd-pleaser and can be found on almost every cocktail menu. This late-night variation tastes just as good as that first cup of coffee in the morning. We all know the classic Espresso Martini, but have you heard of the Macchiato Martini?

The Macchiato Martini is a twist on the ‘regular’ Espresso Martini. In terms of coffee, an espresso and an espresso macchiato differ only by a generous spoonful of milk foam. The macchiato is therefore slightly creamier than an espresso. And the same applies to these two cocktails.
This is where the difference lies
For the Macchiato Martini, you use the same drinks (vodka, espresso, coffee liqueur), but add an extra shot of Baileys. This Irish cream liqueur makes it a Macchiato Martini—one that is guaranteed to make everyone happy after an elaborate dinner!
How to make the Macchiato Martini
- Put the vodka, chilled espresso, coffee liqueur and Baileys in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake as hard as you can for about two minutes. Then serve in a cocktail glass and garnish with a coffee bean.
