Recipe: Aperol Spritz cocktail bombs

Aperol (1)

Aperol Spritz: our favorite Italian cocktail, which we happily drink by the liter, with a slice of this divine Aperol cake on the side, as soon as the sun shows even the slightest hint of shining. With these cocktail bombs, you can enjoy the bittersweet drink in a slightly different way than you’re used to, and make it through this summer with a delightful fizz.

You only need a few ingredients for this recipe. The combination of baking soda and citric acid creates the fizzing effect. Of course, you can simply eat both, or in this case, drink them. Make sure you don’t use liquid orange food coloring, but powdered coloring instead. This makes the mixture drier and makes it easier to turn it into bombs.

How to make the Aperol Spritz cocktail bombs

  • Pour the Aperol into a bowl and add the baking soda and citric acid. Stir until there are no lumps in the mixture.
  • Then add the remaining ingredients and stir well. Spoon the mixture into the mold and press down firmly. Then place the filled mold in a dry spot (not in the refrigerator) to dry for 1 to 2 hours.
  • Fill a glass with prosecco. Drop the cocktail bomb into your glass and watch it fizz into an Aperol Spritz!
