The new 108 will be much more casual and become a place where families come together for a simple meal. In the photo above, we see the team behind 108. Large-scale olive oil fraud

Seven well-known Italian olive oil producers are currently being investigated on suspicion of olive oil fraud. ‘Extra virgin olive oil – produced in Italy’ could actually be produced in Morocco or Portugal. Italy has been dealing with disappointing harvests for several years in a row. This week, following a government investigation, a factory in Puglia was shut down.

Perfect in its imperfection

That is how three food entrepreneurs in California view fruit and vegetables that do not meet strict supermarket standards. All the courgettes, apples and bananas that fail to win a beauty contest are sold at a fifty percent discount. It also happens in the Netherlands, by the way.

Misleading products in supermarkets

So a jar of truffle product from the supermarket contains just 0.0006 percent truffle. It makes sense that there is not much truffle in it given how expensive the product is, but that shockingly little? The high number of misleading products sold every year has inspired Foodwatch to award the Golden Windegg annually. You can still vote for the most misleading product of the year until December 31.
