Renovated: Hotel Arena in 020

A familiar place in Amsterdam for good food, a pleasant overnight stay or even the occasional club night for 25 years. Owner Paul Hermanides felt it was time to breathe new life into Hotel Arena, and the doors have reopened.

The café-restaurant was also renovated during the major transformation. At café-restaurant PARK, chef Peter Scholte is responsible for implementing the new food concept, which is based on shared dining. The menu focuses on the use of vegetables. That means dishes such as mushroom broth and roasted beetroot with goat cheese and crème fraîche.
Steak tartare with truffle cream
The carnivores have also been considered: the menu includes steak tartare with truffle cream, and you can opt for roasted lamb with pesto vinaigrette. Herbs from the kitchen garden planted behind the kitchen are used to season the dishes. Curious about our experience at PARK? Read our report here.

Terrace in the park
The renovation also included the construction of new wings, and the entrance to the hotel was moved to Oosterpark to strengthen the connection between the park and the hotel. As a result, when you sit on the terrace, you feel as though you are in the park, but with staff bringing food and drinks to your table. Park 2.0, you might say.
