Restaurant Bellezza in Amsterdam Brings Whiskey to Life in Spectacular Dinner Show

Today marks the start of Woodford Reserve Old Fashioned Week. The perfect week to order an (alternative) Old Fashioned cocktail. Together with Woodford Reserve Bourbon Whiskey, more than 60 bars across the Netherlands are showing guests just how timeless this classic cocktail is. Amsterdam restaurant Bellezza takes it one step further; there, you can also hear, see, feel and smell the famous whiskey in a spectacular dinner show.

How you experience a cocktail is about much more than the taste of the sip you take. Old Fashioned Week marks the launch of Bellezza’s special ‘Spectacle for the Senses’ menu. Each course is served with a matching whiskey cocktail, with every course reflecting a different sense.
Spectacle for the Senses menu
‘Sound’ arrives as a course featuring an amuse-bouche full of crackling textures. The ‘Smell’ course consists of a smoky BBQ flat-iron steak with smoked mousseline. Alongside it comes a Manhattan made with rose-petal-infused Woodford Reserve Rye and plum vermouth. And for the ‘Taste’ course, soft hamachi is served with green curry mousse and fresh apple and ginger. The accompanying cocktail combines Woodford Reserve Bourbon and lemongrass.

Restaurant Bellezza turns dinner into an edible exhibition featuring audio, video and flavors. Chef Davy van Wezel’s dishes are served at a communal table in the mirrored room, where the space changes along with the courses. Artist CHAN created an audiovisual artwork for each dish. And fortunately, although Woodford Reserve Old Fashioned Week lasts only 7 days, you can order this special menu until the end of 2024. Reservations can be made via restaurant Bellezza.
