Selfieccino: cappuccino and selfie in one

Personalized coffees are a worldwide trend. And it’s going far. Very far. Following in the footsteps of Singapore and London, you can buy a selfieccino at Amada in Rotterdam: a cappuccino with your selfie on it. And then you can take a selfie with that.

Turkish-Dutch Ahu Doganer and her husband first saw the selfieccino in Singapore and were immediately enthusiastic about bringing the concept to the Netherlands. After that, everything gathered pace: they imported the printing machine, found a premises on Hoogstraat in Rotterdam and opened their family business Amada within a few months: a coffee shop serving Turkish breakfast and lunch dishes.
Selfie meets cappuccino
You have yourself photographed at the café. A printer with edible ink then gets to work, printing your photo onto the milk foam of a cappuccino. It’s done in no time, because printing takes just three seconds. The ink used is a little like the ink bakers apply to photo cakes. A selfieccino costs €4.50, one euro more than a regular cappuccino at Amada. By the way, it doesn’t necessarily have to be a selfie: any text or photo is possible, so bring on those marriage proposals.
