Slow tea without a mobile phone

slow tea

You’re enjoying a coffee with your friends when one of them pulls out their mobile phone again. Just checking Facebook or taking a photo for Instagram. It can be pretty irritating. But at Sticky Fingers in Amsterdam, you won’t have to worry about that. When you order a slow tea there, you hand in your phone straight away.

The slow tea consists of various sweet and savoury dishes. You also get a glass of fresh orange juice, tea or prosecco. Everything at Sticky Fingers is homemade and organic. Slow tea stands for a high tea without distractions. The idea came about because when you’re busy with your phone, you enjoy your food just a little less consciously.

Phone in a locker

Before you sit down at the table, you therefore first have to put your mobile phone in a locker. You only get it back when you leave. According to Astrid from Sticky Fingers, it’s all meant with a wink. “If there’s really something going on, you’ll of course get the phone back. For the rest of the afternoon, you’ll be happily offline.” This doesn’t mean you can’t take photos of your food. There are Polaroid cameras on the table, so you still have something to take home.
