The chef from Zeeland naturally only goes for the very best. Herman spent a year and a half experimenting with the recipe for quality fries. Frites Atelier Amsterdam will work with different potato varieties from Zeeland. But one harvest is not the same as another, so the origin may vary each year.

Of course, good sauces also belong with fries. FavorFlav has already sampled the béarnaise and the mayos with basil, truffle and pepper. Naturally, there is also a classic version, which has a deliciously sour taste. Our favorite? Difficult to say, but we’ll go for the béarnaise and the classic.

Crunch

But now for the most important thing: what do the fries taste like? A big smile appeared on the faces of the FavorFlav editorial team. They are super crunchy and wonderfully soft on the inside. They crunch loudly when you bite into them, just as they should. If, like us, you are absolutely delighted by the crispy pieces at the bottom of your carton or bag, you’ll be very happy about the arrival of this place.

Herman hasn’t forgotten the vegetables either. Every season, there are various preparations featuring vegetables from an organic farm in Zeeland.

Oh oh The Hague

Although the name suggests otherwise, the first location is in The Hague at Venestraat 7. The idea is to open locations abroad as well. Studio Piet Boon is responsible for the interiors at all locations. Completely Instagram-worthy, of course.

Besides Herman, Pieter Munten and Lhassan Ait Ali are also co-owners of the new fries empire. Both grew up in hospitality families and are just as perfectionist as Sergio Herman.
