I have a decent repertoire of simple, delicious dishes that can be on the table in no time. But after a while, even those start to get boring. A cookbook can help, but drawing from other people’s repertoires helps even more.

Long live the Twitter thread by British food journalist Jack Monroe. Monroe campaigns against poverty and hunger and has written several cookbooks filled with budget recipes. She (yes, she’s a woman) asked her followers to share their favorite quick and simple comfort food and immediately shared her own tips too:
