Stoner food bar pop-up

At Huis van Iemand Anders, hungry stoners can indulge on 31 March. The creators of Amsterdam Stoner Cookbook — yes, it exists: a cookbook with stoner snacks — are serving a three-course dinner there.

Munchies — the insatiable hunger you get after smoking one thing or another — are a source of bizarre food combinations: Snickers with cheese, stroopwafels with popcorn or a chicken sandwich with Bugles — just to name a few.

Professional stoners Ome Ad and Hendrawanto collected all their crazy creations in their Amsterdam Stoner Cookbook last year, along with accompanying cooking tutorials. Now they think it’s time for a real stoner dinner. Starting with an amuse-bouche: the Sneezy (Snickers with cheese), followed by the ‘Salty Nacho Bag’ as a starter, the ‘Crispy chicken outtaspace waffle’ as the main course and a ‘Faja Pancakelicious Lobi’ for dessert. The state of mind in which these names were conceived is easy to guess.

If you’re not already lying on the floor in the foetal position from all the sweet, salty and greasy food, there’s also a party where you can let loose to hip-hop, afrobeat and dancehall.
