Syrup Waffles or Gouda?

stroopwafel

Mashed potatoes, croquettes, pea soup… What do you think of when you think of Dutch food culture? During the Low Food Symposium on 13 January, farmers, producers, chefs and policymakers will come together to bring Dutch food culture to life.

Ask an international person about Dutch food culture and you’ll get a questioning look in return, or at most something about syrup waffles or Gouda. Dutch food culture suffers from an inferiority complex, but that isn’t necessary. Our little frog country is bursting with professionals doing amazingly beautiful things. Those very people will be put on stage to inspire you.

Revolution

We may well be at the beginning of a revolution in Dutch gastronomy. People are cooking wonderfully, and more and more producers are committing themselves to high-quality products. During this day, which runs from 13:00 to 17:00, speakers including Joris Bijdendijk, Samuel Levie, Onno Kleyn and Joris Vermeer will take you through the Dutch food landscape.

Culinary hotspot

How has Denmark transformed into a popular culinary hotspot in recent years? What is a meaningful distance for local products? How does agriculture contribute to our food culture? These inspiring days will provide answers to all those questions. Lunch will also be taken care of down to the last detail, by the way.

Waiting list

Unfortunately, tickets have already sold out, but you can still sign up for the waiting list on the Low Food website.
