Talking Beer in the New Podcast ‘Fuck Wijn’
‘What’s on tap?’ One of the most frequently asked beer questions from pub-goers sounds like an echo from times gone by. I can’t even remember the last time I had a beer away from home (sob). There’s still no prospect of the hospitality industry reopening, but in the meantime I do have a great beer tip: Fuck Wijn, the educational drink-along podcast about beer by writer Ronald Giphart and craft brewer Ronald van de Streek.
An educational drink-along podcast—what can you expect? Eight episodes in which Ronald and Ronald discuss one beer style per episode in a light-hearted and humorous way, each time with a different well-known beer-loving guest. For every beer style, they taste a classic and a modern version and discuss their findings. Don’t expect dry technical beer talk, just some good old chatting about beer.
The guests include TV presenter Dione de Graaf, radio DJ Domien Verschuren, former professional cyclist Laurens ten Dam, wine writer Harold Hamersma and Fokke & Sokke cartoonist Jean Marc van Tol.

The first episode of Fuck Wijn goes live on Friday, 19 March. In this episode, you’ll learn all about the Czech origins of pilsner, taste the mother of all tripels (the rather strong beer style with sweetish flavours), join them in the stable with a saison (do you know which herbs and spices go into it? And why saison beer is also affectionately called ‘farmhouse’ beer?) and discover the magic of wooden barrels with barrel-aged beers. And all of this with (haha) wine expert Harold Hamersma as their guest.
