The 5 Healthiest McDonald’s Burgers

mcdonald’s

Personally, I know that when I go to McDonald’s, I’m not going there for a healthy salad. Or to start counting my calories for the day. Bad plan. Because McDonald’s simply isn’t healthy, and I can’t imagine anyone thinking otherwise… But there is still quite a difference between the various menu options.

According to the website EatThis, which has looked into it all — tough job — these are the healthiest options of all the burgers:

1. The regular hamburger
Yes, well, I saw that one coming too. It’s actually almost a bit like cheating: this is simply the most basic thing you can order at McDonald’s, but personally, I’m not satisfied after this with my McCraving. Still, it is the healthiest choice if you want to take that into account.

2. The cheeseburger
In the category of ‘is the Pope Catholic?’ and ‘does a bear shit in the woods?’, we have the obvious cheeseburger at number two.

3. The McDouble
I didn’t necessarily expect this one — I thought the McChicken above would be listed here. Unfortunately, we don’t currently have this one on the menu in the Netherlands. A shame, because it’s really very good.

4. Double cheeseburger
I also think this one is delicious, and it makes sense that it ranks just below the McDouble; they are practically the same, but this one has one more slice of cheese.

5. Quarter Pounder Cheese Deluxe
Wait, whut?! The Quarter Pounder at number five?! Unfortunately, this is another variant that we currently don’t have on the list here in the Netherlands… But when it comes to calories, you’re better off skipping it: at 630 calories, it’s more substantial than the Big Mac (590 calories), although it does have more vegetables on it.
