The Big IKEA Meatball Test

swedish meatballs

Do you always go to IKEA specially for the meatballs too?

Popsugar tested all of IKEA’s famous meatballs (chicken, vegetarian and beef), and the result is surprising. The familiar beef meatballs didn’t win; the chicken version came out on top. They are the most tender, juicy and flavorful. A good second? The vegetarian ones with chickpeas, cabbage, corn, carrot and bell pepper. And in third place are the famous beef meatballs. The flavor is fine, but the chewy texture is far from what you are hoping for. The red and brown sauces mask that somewhat. So there’s hardly any wow factor.

New ‘King of Cocktails’

Kevin Kroon was named the new ‘Dutch World Class Bartender of the Year’ at the bar of the W hotel in Amsterdam. During the World Class Dutch Finals, he defeated the other contestants by making the best cocktail based on Scotch whisky. The competition is organized by Diageo (a major drinks conglomerate) to provide a platform for talent. Last year, Tess Posthumus (Door 74) won. Kroon also works at the renowned cocktail bar. From September 26 to 29, Kroon will compete in Miami in the global final.

Brilliant invention: edible plastic

Saltwater Brewery has found a way to replace harmful plastic six-pack rings with an edible material. This will hopefully prevent millions of birds, turtles and other animals from getting trapped. Drink beer and save the planet, then.
