The famous Russian top chef Anatoly Kazakov is coming to Amsterdam
Chef Anatoly Kazakov, one of the most revolutionary chefs in Russian gastronomy, is coming to cook at restaurant Wils in Amsterdam on 21 and 22 March. Together with Wils’ chefs Joris Bijdendijk, Erwin Oudijk and Friso van Amerongen, he will cook dishes inspired by fire during the event Selfie fires up Wils. And you can be there!
World’s most revolutionary Russian chef
Anatoly Kazakov is a celebrity in Russia. He began his career in renowned restaurants in Italy. He has won a wealth of awards, including the silver ‘Silver Triangle’ competition in 2012, which also earned him the trophy for ‘Best Young Chef’. Six months later, he reached the final of the ‘S. Pellegrino Cooking Cup’, a spectacular culinary competition in which top chefs from around the world cook in the galley of a sailing ship during a nail-biting sailing race in Venice.
Chef of the Year
Since 2014, Kazakov has been at the helm of restaurant Selfie in Moscow, part of the White Rabbit Family. Selfie was ranked number 65 in The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2019. Since 2018, Selfie has been awarded 4 out of 5 chef’s hats in the Gault&Millau guide, and that same year he was named ‘Chef of the Year’.
Stoking the fire
Chef Anatoly is proud of Russian ingredients. His style is characterised by simplicity, elegance and pure flavours. Tradition and local ingredients are combined with modern techniques. Kazakov is also a master at preparing food in charcoal ovens. He loves the aromatic flavours and great texture that smoke provides. A perfect guest for Wils, then, because everything there revolves around… fire!

Dining at Kazakov’s table is a once in a lifetime experience. You can make a reservation for lunch or dinner. Tickets cost €110 (6 snacks & 6 courses). Restaurant Wils can be found on the third floor of Move, the building on the south side of Stadionplein in Amsterdam.
