The Most Annoying Pranks People Pull in Hospitality #5

geintjes-horeca

Oh, you do have a lot of laughs in hospitality, don’t you? Even during these times of a light lockdown, or especially then, hopefully. We have to stay a little positive, after all, and I always deal with stupid things using humor. Maybe it’s not the very best way, but it does work. Like today: I was having a stupid day, but reading on to see what kind of practical jokes you’ve come up with this time instantly cheered me up.

Because there were quite a few gems among them again, let me tell you. All those poor new employees or interns… Who will of course be doing exactly the same thing to their new colleagues in about four years. It’s a never ending story, these hospitality pranks. So I’ve got a few more ready for you.

1. Someone allergic to pineapple, but it’s already mixed into the dish? No problemo, just grab the fruit magnet and hold it over the plate.

2. Have you run out of non-alcoholic beer? No problem either; you just need to grab the malt sieve… to sieve the alcohol out of the beer.

3. Send the newbie off to look for coffee cups for left-handed people. Or send them to Blokker for them.

4. For the fit girls: send your colleague off in search of fat-free whipped cream. You do have to watch your figure a little, don’t you?

5. In a hotel, it’s important that the buffet looks its best. Everything neat and tidy. All the bananas in the right shape. And naturally, we use the banana bender for that! Yes, really, can you go look for it?

6. Fun one: the beer keg opener. If you’ve never changed a beer keg before, you’ll fall for this one straight away, right?

7. Aiii: sending someone to the nearest restaurant to have the empty mussel shells filled. Poor, poor newcomers.

8. Or asking whether the pea sieve can be fetched urgently. Honestly, you don’t believe this, do you? Even I think this one goes a little too far.

9. The strawberry or tomato stoner: I might actually have fallen for that one myself. But luckily, you would have too.

Yaaaa, they remain funny, don’t they? Keep them coming!
