The winner of the Spareribs Trophy 2024 has been announced: here’s where to get the best ones

We’re at the start of spareribs season, and it’s kicked off right away with the annual Spareribs Trophy, organised by Koninklijke Nederlandse Slagers. The 2024 winner is Keurslager Evert Tebak from Nuenen.

During the judging on 6 March, all the submitted artisan spareribs from across the country were assessed on aroma, taste, composition and preparation. “These spareribs are beautifully marbled, neatly finished and have a delicious aftertaste. They’re truly moreish!”, an enthusiastic jury said about Keurslager Tebak’s spareribs.
Well-known throughout the wider area
Keurslager Evert Tebak is located on Parkstraat in Nuenen and is well-known throughout the wider area. The artisan butcher’s trade has been passed down here from generation to generation. Tebak: “This is the third time we’ve entered, and now we’re allowed to take first prize home—third time’s the charm! We’re at the start of spareribs season and will work hard to make and sell as many spareribs as possible.”
Second and third place
Second prize went to Keurslager De Jong from Gilze, while Slager Traiteur & Catering Hermanussen from Overasselt took home third prize.
