The World’s Best Asian Restaurants

The fifty best Asian restaurants in the world according to World’s 50 Best Restaurants have been announced. Plenty of reason for a trip through Asia. Here you’ll find the full list.

The best female chef was also honored during the ceremony. Garima Arora ranks sixteenth on the list with her Thai-Indian restaurant Gaa.
Odette
Number 1 is Odette in Singapore. Chef Julien Royer uses the highest-quality products for his dishes. His dishes are prepared in the French style, but with subtle Asian influences. Think: John Dory with miso caramel, arrow squid and sake beurre blanc.
Vea
VEA in Hong Kong finished in 34th place. Well deserved, according to FavorFlav’s Renée, who ate there at the end of last year. “Well, what am I supposed to say about this? Everything at VEA is surprising: from the food and the way it is served to the interior—you simply don’t quite know what you’re experiencing. We sat in a private room with a view of the kitchen. We could see the chefs, but they couldn’t see us. A strange experience. And then the food… I don’t even know where to begin. Among other things, we ate quail eggs marinated in rice vinegar and smoked, served in a bird’s nest enveloped in smoke. Magical. And the rice puffs with salt cod purée were served in a music box playing music that reminded the chef of his childhood.”
