There it is again: Tony’s Chocolonely Advent Calendar!

Tony’s adventkalender

As fun as it is to moan about the relentless rain, dropping temperatures and the fact that it’s getting dark earlier again, it’s just as enjoyable to revel in the fact that the holiday season is on its way. And that you can happily sit on the sofa in your sweatpants with a candle burning as early as eight in the evening instead of having to knock back white wine on a terrace in your sandals, plus the fact that thank goodness kruidnoten are back on the shelves. And then Tony’s Chocolonely comes up with something wonderful too…

Because this ethical chocolate company, which has been working towards better conditions in the cocoa industry since its founding in 2005, has brought back the Tony’s Chocolonely Advent Calendar this year too.

24 days fly by

This enormous calendar is packed with their delicious miniature bars: the Tiny Tony’s, one behind each of the 24 doors. And that’s not all—there are all kinds of surprises involved, meaning that if you start nibbling on 1 December, by Christmas you’ll also be better informed about abuses in the chocolate industry, such as illegal child labour and modern slavery. After that, you can make a fresh start with good intentions to eat ‘more ethical’ chocolate from now on!

Helping the world, one bar at a time

So while you’re snacking, you’re already helping support the company’s mission to make all the chocolate in the world 100% slave-free—a mission that is gaining more and more support worldwide. Not only are you doing góod, it’s also very tasty. And reasonably responsible too, right, with one little chocolate a day?

A life-sized gift

And it really is HUGE! Bring your biggest bag or a cargo bike, Tony’s itself suggested, and one thing is certain: if you manage not to immediately pry open one of the doors, this is also a very good gift idea. Or you could just buy two…

Now on sale

The advent calendar is now available in stores (at Tony’s Stores in Amsterdam, of course, and at Jumbo and Plus, among others) and can be ordered online. The recommended retail price is €14.49, for which you get to snack deliciously for 24 days and do some good at the same time.
