Tony’s Chocolonely and BrewDog in a dream collab!
Some companies are truly a source of national pride. In the Netherlands, one of those companies is Tony’s Chocolonely, which has put itself firmly on the international map through its constant fight for slave-free chocolate; in Scotland, one example is the brewers at BrewDog, who have presented themselves as an extremely environmentally friendly brewery since their founding. And when two such parties decide to work together, you just know something amazing is going to come out of it!
Just as Tony’s Chocolonely has a large following both at home and abroad, so does BrewDog. BrewDog has/is a close-knit community, is praised for its own style, and, for example, simply shares its beer recipes on its website for home brewers to recreate themselves. Tony’s recently became the proud owner of its own factory, meaning it is no longer dependent on a factory belonging to other chocolate makers and therefore has much more oversight of fair supply and processes, while being able to scale up production considerably. After a flying start without compromises with its brewery near Aberdeen, Scotland, BrewDog now also has breweries in America, Australia and one in Berlin. Spread the Love! And what are they going to make together?

Leave it to these innovators to come up with an incredible collaboration, with the end product being a raspberry/white chocolate milkshake IPA! Yesss… bring it on. The can’s design looks fantastic, in candy colours and with the distinctive Tony’s strip showing the flavour. And the name? Tony’s Hopolonely. Good, right?!
We want this
The launch of this brilliant beer is taking place in Great Britain. BrewDog’s website shows that the beer will first be sold there as part of the May ‘BrewDog & Friends box’. So far, we have no confirmation from Tony’s Chocolonely Netherlands that the beer will also make its way here, but that could well happen, right, given Tony’s origins and BrewDog’s success in the Netherlands too? In any case, let’s beg and pray very hard that we’ll be granted this wonderful beer as well—and who knows what the future may bring..!
