Why you should eat raspberries every day

Do you prefer bananas to apples? Pineapple to a mandarin? Having to choose your favorite fruit is actually ridiculous, but if we had to pick a favorite, it would be the raspberry. Why? Fiber, baby—raspberries are absolutely packed with dietary fiber.

If you eat a bowl of raspberries every day, you’ll unknowingly get 8 grams of dietary fiber. Most people don’t eat enough fiber, so if every morning you eat your granola with a generous handful of raspberries instead of a banana, you’ll already be reaping your first health benefit nice and early. That dietary fiber is good for your gut, helps you feel full faster and makes sure you can poop properly—sorry, gross talk, but it’s important.
Raspberries are little vitamin powerhouses
What’s more, that modest little raspberry is packed with vitamins. Vitamin C, of course, but also vitamins K, E, A and B6. And minerals: potassium, phosphorus, calcium and zinc. Antioxidants a plenty, in those adorable little berries. Strawberries, blackberries and blueberries are healthy too, but they don’t score nearly as well as raspberries.
They’re not boring
A bit boring, eating a bowl of raspberries every day? Not if you eat them with Greek yogurt and walnuts for breakfast, add them to a smoothie, turn them into a delicious dessert, mash them onto a slice of bread with peanut butter (instead of jam!), add them to a salad, for example with goat cheese, put them on toast with cottage cheese (a little black pepper on top) or simply munch them as Netflix hums companionably in the background: all good.
