These 3 Lidl proseccos score surprisingly high (and cost next to nothing)
Although as far as I’m concerned it’s always time for bubbles, December is still officially bubble month in the Netherlands. Holidays, drinks evenings, family visits… there’s always a reason to raise a glass. The only thing is: Champagne comes with a Champagne-sized price tag. Luckily, there’s Prosecco—the affordable, cheerful alternative for anyone who wants to drink something sparkling without paying top dollar.
And now Lidl has come up with three proseccos that all received a score of 8 from wine writer Harold Hamersma and his team at De Grote Hamersma. Three good bottles, three great prices, zero regrets.

It’s very simple: prosecco is the life of the party among sparkling wines. Lighter, fresher and more approachable than many other sparkling wines. It has those friendly fruity vibes, that pleasantly tingling mouthfeel and—let’s be honest—it’s simply very nice that, for a few euros, you can put a bottle on the table that everyone enjoys.
Whether you’re having brunch, drinks, making a toast, sipping, spraying or simply enjoying it: prosecco always feels like a little celebration. Even when the calendar simply says Tuesday.
These are the 3 highest-scoring Lidl proseccos (all an 8!)
1. Allini Prosecco Treviso DOC – Spumante Gold (€9.99)
This spumante brut is just shy of completely dry and has that soft, light peach flavor prosecco lovers are so fond of. The mousse is firm and creamy, exactly what you want when you take the first sip. And well, the bottle… that golden outfit is simply begging for a spot under the Christmas tree.
Treviso is also a protected designation of origin, so you know exactly where these bubbles come from.
2. Allini Prosecco Extra Dry (€6.99)
Same producer, even better price. ‘Extra dry’ sometimes sounds as if you’re drinking something that makes your mouth pucker, but fortunately that’s not the case.
This version is dry, fruity, mildly creamy and has a subtle almond bitterness that adds finesse. A better prosecco for seven euros? Good luck finding one.
3. Allini PIU Semi Secco Spumante On Ice (€4.99)
The cheapest of the three—and perhaps the most cheerful. This prosecco leans slightly toward sweet, with a pleasantly fruity flavor. Perfect for people who enjoy somewhat softer, easy-drinking bubbles.
The addition of On Ice? No, it doesn’t necessarily need ice cubes, but it’s at its best ice-cold. Think Jägermeister-cold.
The fact that you can still buy a good prosecco for €4.99 in 2025? It really does exist.
