After binge-watching Netflix’ Street Food in one go, I immediately started looking for plane tickets. I have to go there. But where exactly is ‘there’? Netflix does mention the names and cities, but not the addresses. I looked them up for you, made a map and am sharing it here. Long live the internet.

Raan Jay Fai

Jay Fai may be self-taught, but she is widely regarded as one of the best street food chefs in the world. She literally started from scratch after losing everything in a fire. This self-made chef is known for the twist she gives classic Thai dishes, such as her dry Tom Yum and extra-fluffy crab omelet. And she even managed to earn a Michelin star for that unique style.

Sukhumvit 38 Famous Ba Mee

Khun Sumeth’s pulled BBQ pork noodles came about out of necessity when Sumeth and his brother were forced to move their stall. “We used to serve egg noodles with crab legs, but our new customers couldn’t afford the crab,” Chow Naulkhair, author of Bankok’s Top 50 Street Food Stalls, explains in episode 1 of Street Food. So now they serve fried pork, which is much cheaper but at least as delicious.

Jek Pui Curry

Jek Pui opened his stall after moving from China to Thailand and learning how to make curry. Since then, his mild, made-from-scratch pork and beef curries have become an indispensable part of the neighborhood. His daughter Jay Chia, who began helping her father cook when she was thirteen, now runs the stall. Since taking over, she has expanded the menu with other dishes such as green curry with meatballs, chicken or pork.
