These chips are a hit on TikTok—do you dare try them?

At first, I felt like a grandma on the TikTok app, but these days I navigate it a lot more smoothly. I don’t keep up with the trends and I can’t do a single dance, because I’m actually mainly on there for the food. Food hacks and food tips: they’re all welcome. And yes, okay, the occasional trend too. Like these chips, Takis, which I suddenly started seeing everywhere.

Our Snackspert was already raving about these little chips. No idea whether he was the trendsetter or whether one of his loyal snack followers saw them on TikTok, but one thing is clear: these chips are a hit. And above all: Hot. These. Chips. Are. So. HOT!
Takis Fuego are for spicy food lovers
The name gives it away a little, because the variety everyone is raving about is called Fuego—and although in Spain I can only order a cerveza, even I know that ‘fuego’ means fire. And that’s actually the only name that really does these chips justice. Okay, they also have a slightly lime-like flavor (delicious!), but even so: a glass of milk alongside them is no unnecessary luxury.
You can order Takis Fuego online from one of the larger online stores, where they cost about seven euros (!) more than usual, but if you’re in Amsterdam, you can find them at FavorFlav’s favorite shop: Tjin’s Toko. It’s a paradise if you love Asian cuisine. And if you’re not in Amsterdam? You can get them from the same shop, but simply online.
PS. Dear people at Takis, if you happen to be reading this: for that price, there’s very little in the bag. Less is not always more. Certainly not when it comes to chips.
