This is Paris’s most fashionable dessert

One of the newest hotspots on the Champs-Elysées is Café Citron, set up by fashion designer Simon Porte Jacquemus and already known for its signature dessert.

All of Paris’s fashion lovers are flocking to the café for the dessert created by pastry chef Cédric Grolet: a hand-glazed lemon. Bright yellow, shiny like a mirror and decorated with a few daisies. But that beauty is just as fleeting as many a fashion collection. The idea is that you smash it so the lemon curd can spill out.

Totally fashion
The café itself looks super polished too. In the café, you imagine yourself in the south of France: light, wooden furniture and lemons everywhere, from lemon trees in terracotta pots to crates full of lemons scattered throughout the place. One thing is certain: the spot certainly lives up to its name.

Fashion designer Simon Porte Jacquemus (known for the oversized bag) joined forces for the project with the owner of Caviar Kaspia, the establishment dedicated to caviar. Café Citron can be found in Paris’s ultimate shopping destination, Galeries LaFayette on the Champs-Elysées. At the café, you can enjoy not only this beautiful dessert, but also Mediterranean bites such as burrata di bufala with tomatoes and focaccia.
