This is the best candy ever for foodies

Marsepein frikandel

Remember those bags of candy from the cafeteria that you could fill with sickly sweet (and intensely chemical) lollipops, liquorice and sour belts? My selection always included the little bananas and cherries. A foodie even back then, huh? And I still have a soft spot for food-shaped candy. If only because it makes it seem like you’ve actually had a proper meal. So, here’s a list of favourites.

First of all, a shoutout to online shop Radbag (no, this isn’t an advertorial), it’s simply an amazing shop. Especially if you’re looking for gifts. Or candy, that is.

Candy dog

How about a  wine gum taco, for example? With tomatoes, cheese, lettuce, salsa and mince. Sounds pretty healthy, right? Or a big, fat burger with gummy-bear meat. De-li-cious. Also great to combine during a candy snack fest with this hot dog made from candy sausages, bread, pickles and sauce. In other words: candy-doggie-doooog. The ultimate dessert after your sushi? Gummy sushi, of course!

Lick my lollipop

There’s plenty going on in the lollipop department too. How about these burger, hot dog and fries lollipops? Or, for the (semi-)fit girls among us: these watermelon lollipops? And last but certainly not least: beer lollipops. Alcohol-free for those of us who are driving.

Chocolate Brussels sprouts

More in the mood for chocolate? Oh man, the possibilities are endless. An avocado made of chocolate, a sausage or bacon & eggs made of chocolate. But my favourites have to be these chocolate Brussels sprouts. Brussels sprouts have never been this delicious.

Marzipizza

Okay, marzipan isn’t for everyone. You either loeve it (a lot) or hate it (even more). But you can’t deny that it comes in wonderfully fun shapes. Tip: Hema has some great ones. Poffertjes, English liquorice (candy within candy!), sushi and pizza, for example. But my favourites have to be the frikandel speciaal and the tray of fries with a croquette from Jamin.
