This is the number 1 foodie destination in America

Yelp, no small player on the international review market, regularly comes up with lists of what its users consider the very best at that moment. The best restaurants in Haarlem, for example, the most popular dishes of 2019, and now ‘The Top Foodie Destinations of 2020’. In America, admittedly, but one can dream, right? This is the number 1 place where you, as a foodie, can have all your cravings satisfied:

Asheville, North Carolina!
Asheville, you say? Absolutely: a rugged little city surrounded by the magnificent Blue Ridge Mountains. As the top U.S. foodie destination, it is closely followed by Portland, Charlottesville, Maui, Honolulu and New Orleans.
What contributes to the winner’s popularity is that many of the products used come from local farms, and food lovers from all walks of life are catered to perfectly. Great vegan restaurants and kombucha brewers, but also the thickest croque madams imaginable with ham, cheese, mustard and béchamel, charcuterie heavens, fine dining, artisanal chocolate creations — Asheville has it all. Add to that a lively beer-brewing scene, and as far as we’re concerned, the picture is complete.
