By now, I really can’t deny it anymore: I love TikTok. I come across the most fun things there, the best trends (but also bizarre trends) — especially when it comes to food. Take the board that’s currently going viral: the Butter Board. I’m translating it as the boterborrelplank because that sounds delicious—and it is.
Especially if, like me, you absolutely love bread. Because this board is exactly what you think it is: a gigantic borrelplank with all kinds of butter. And then you might think: ‘how booooring’… But it absolutely isn’t. Far from it.

Who would ever have thought that butter could be so versatile? On TikTok, we’re seeing Middle Eastern borrelboterplanken, but also Vegemite butter, whipped butter, sweet butter such as blueberry butter, or butter with caramelized onion… Well, in this case, pictures really do say more than a thousand words, so here are some TikToks that are guaranteed to make you a fan too. This Friday, I’m going to kick off the weekend with a gi-gan-tic borrelboterplank. And then enter a food coma on the couch. CAN’T WAIT.
