Tip: Canteen and Beer Garden

Give us chicken. Give us beer and a good terrace, and you won’t hear from us for the rest of the summer.  

Canteen and Beer Garden may not ring a bell with most people from Rotterdam, but if I say K&B or Chicken and Beer, it often does. The place on Oude Dijk isn’t called that for nothing: it’s the hotspot for enjoying grilled chicken and a cold beer.

Terrace

Walking onto this terrace in summer always feels a bit like arriving at a garden party. Thanks to the laid-back, relaxed atmosphere, you immediately feel at ease. When the weather is nice, you can enjoy a delicious piece of meat from the barbecue. We’re also here when the weather is bad, by the way—the interior is just as cozy and relaxed as the outside.

Chicken and Burgers

The menu consists of a number of simple dishes. We especially recommend the K&B classics. The spareribs, for example, or the half chicken with BBQ or piri piri glaze. Although we usually end up ordering the burger with fresh fries, which you can get for just €13. Combine it with a tasty beer and we’re happy.
