Transavia joins forces with Thuisbezorgd.nl: In-flight delivery

Are you also one of the hundred thousand people who always complain about airplane food? That it’s tasteless, too salty, too sweet, too little, simply disgusting, and so on… I’ve always had a bit of a soft spot for airplane food (but now that we’re talking about it: that actually applies to food in general). But there’s one airline where I never eat well: Transavia. But that’s about to change.

The fact that it’s always disappointing at Transavia is also because there’s never any free food on board, and if you pay three euros for a sausage roll, it can hardly be anything other than disappointing. But Transavia has a first so that you’ll never have to eat those sausage rolls or Unox Good Noodles again (hooray!): they’ve teamed up with Thuisbezorgd.nl.

So how does it work?

Up to one hour before boarding, you can order your meal through your Thuisbezorgd.nl app (or via the website). It will then be freshly prepared by the iFleat kitchen brigade and delivered on board. WHUT? How brilliant is that? So no limp pizzas that have to be brought all the way to Schiphol by the nearest Domino’s. I’m talking fresh salads, rendang (my favorite!), sandwiches, and breakfast too—for when you catch that ridiculously early morning flight.

Sounds great, is there a ‘but’?

Well… Not really, actually. Not for me, anyway, because I always fly from Schiphol. But Transavia also flies from Rotterdam and Eindhoven, and unfortunately this service isn’t available there yet—although they do plan to introduce it. The countries where this is possible are also still limited. But that’s fine in itself, because the countries we can travel to at all during corona are already limited. The Thuisbezorgd service is available for four destinations in Greece, Portugal and Italy. So book your flight and get orderingggg.
