We know Hendricks and Bobby’s gin by now. Time to drink something different.

VL92 Gin

Sietze Kalkwijk, who once graduated from the Design Academy, is the owner of VL92 Gin. He won the prestigious ‘The Dieline Awards’ with it in the ‘spirits’ category and was the absolute number 1. In the gin, you can taste the English herbal blend along with coriander leaf.

Jinzu

The creator of this gin is Scotsman Dee Davies, who won a prize with Jinzu at a prestigious bartenders’ competition. The Asian-sounding name was not chosen at random: Jinzu is distilled with sake and Japanese cherry blossoms, which gives the drink a wonderfully floral flavour.

VC2

What once began as a passion in Maastricht at Victor de Stuersstraat 2C—hence the name—has now become a brand based in Amsterdam. This gin is particularly smooth and fruity; you can taste some of the oranges that were distilled for the drink. The added chilli provides just that extra bit of kick.

Damrak gin

Although Damrak comes from Amsterdam, the drink is more popular in the United States. But that will not last much longer. Damrak belongs to the new generation of gins that experiments with botanicals. Botanicals include, for example, grapefruit, flowers, herbs or peppers (you can order botanicals here) that are added to the gin and tonic. In terms of flavour, it is deliciously Damrak-fresh.
