You regularly find surimi (also known as crab sticks) in your sushi. But what exactly is it?

Crab sticks without crab

Those strange elongated, soft sticks with a red-and-white color, wrapped in plastic. Of course, we’re talking about surimi. You sometimes find surimi in your sushi roll, and they are also called crab sticks. In Japanese, surimi is a very general word for finely chopped, processed fish, but that’s all it is. The strange stick is nothing more than a fish stick with crab flavor. There isn’t any real crab in it, according to Keuringsdienst van Waarde.

McDonald’s larger fries sauce containers

A container of fries sauce from McDonald’s is just too little, but two is slightly too much, which is pretty annoying. Yes, first world problems, but after years McDonald’s has finally made the fries sauce containers a little bigger. Instead of 20 milliliters, a container will now contain 35 milliliters of sauce, just as much as all the other sauces. The fast-food chain has not yet announced whether the price of the sauce will also increase.

Millennial doesn’t want cereal

A bowl of milk with cereal for breakfast? Been there, done that. Instead, people are massively opting for oatmeal, smoothies or sandwiches for breakfast. The reason, according to The New York Times? Eating a bowl of cereal is too much hassle, it isn’t healthy enough and is often not organic.
