My support, my rock, my morning favorite. Of course, I’m talking about coffee. But apparently, coffee on a plane is a real dirty little thing. We know this now thanks to flight attendant Kat Kamalani. She recently made a TikTok video to convince everyone never to ask for anything made with hot water on a plane again. According to Kat, most flight attendants rarely or never drink coffee or tea on planes because both are made with the same hot water from the coffee machines, which she says are rarely cleaned unless they break down. Her video has now been viewed almost 3 million times.

A vegetarian airline meal has two advantages. First, you always get your food first, and your table is also cleared first. In addition, vegetables retain their flavor better when reheated. With some airlines, you can choose from a huge range of options and see in advance roughly what you’ll get. Order something with lots of umami
In the air, you taste sweet and salty flavors up to 30% less, because altitude leaves your taste buds slightly confused and they don’t work as well as you’d like. The only flavor that remains intact is umami. So choose a meal that contains it. Tomatoes, Parmesan cheese, mushrooms and soy sauce are umami-rich ingredients. The same applies to drinks. Tomato juice or, even better, a Bloody Mary, is always a good choice.
