Win the ultimate BBQ masterclass

Today, the food festival De Rollende Keukens kicks off, which means photos are going to be taken. Whoever takes the best picture of the toughest burger, crunchiest grasshopper or most colourful curry will win a prize from us.

Soft butter in one minute

Nothing beats butter, but nothing is as annoying as spreading hard butter on a fresh sandwich. With this trick, you can easily make butter just soft enough to spread. And you don’t have to get any pans involved. Here’s what you need to do: put a glass of water in the microwave for one minute. Empty the glass, then place the warmed glass over a cut piece of butter. Does the butter fall over? Then it’s soft enough to spread. Even easier is to fill the glass with boiling water and use it to warm it up.
