Yes, there’s going to be a bagel emoji

Finally, it’s time for new emojis again. And luckily, there are some new food emojis among them too. Cheese, eggplant and wine were already at the top of our most-used emojis, but they now have to make room for the bagel. Or the lobster. Or the salt.

Alongside the bagel, there will be an emoji of a Chinese mooncake, a head of romaine lettuce, a pink cupcake and a salt shaker. According to the creators, the lobster belongs in the animal category, but as far as we’re concerned, it’s simply a food emoji too. The images will be available from July, and we’ll definitely be using them in our food-related app conversations—so, pretty much all the time.
