Yoghurt Barn opens in Rotterdam

The popular chain Yoghurt Barn is expected to open a 13th lunch and breakfast bar on Oude Binnenweg in Rotterdam in December 2017. After, among others, Amsterdam, Leiden, Utrecht, The Hague and Haarlem, the Maas city will soon also be able to count a trendy yoghurt bar among its attractions.

Food retailer 2017
Founders Wouter and Esther Staal opened their first Yoghurt Barn in their home city of Utrecht in 2012. After seeing how popular frozen yoghurt bars were abroad, they decided—without any hospitality experience but with a generous dose of enthusiasm—to translate their vision of a yoghurt bar into a Dutch context.
With good coffee, a stylish interior and an extensive selection of yoghurts with fresh fruit and crunchy toppings (nuts, chocolate, granolas, etc.), their concept proved to be an instant hit from the very beginning. Now, five years later, they are opening their 12th and 13th locations in the Netherlands, publishing their own book Yoghurt and winning the ‘Food Retailer of 2017’ award.
Fit girls and flavour buddies
Who would want a bowl of yoghurt outside the home? According to the owners, their customers are primarily health-conscious young women around 25 years old. To meet the wishes of their audience, Yoghurt Barn serves not only organic yoghurt from Campina but also soy, almond and coconut yoghurt. This means that people with special allergies or dietary requirements have something to choose from too. Not really into dairy, but not too reluctant to be a wingman for your yoghurt-craving friends? Don’t worry: you can also order sandwiches, pastries and even a complete high tea there.
